  I have been staying at The Galvestonian 2 or 3 times a year for the last 10 years. We usually go during the off season during the week to avoid the crowds and have the island to ourselves. The East end of Galveston is out of the hustle and bustle of the rest of the island and has a large green space full of wildlife. We have seen dozens of different bird species around the hotel and Lagoon and even had the good luck to see 2 Ghost Wolves! The staff are one my favorite parts about The Galvestonian experience. They make you feel welcome and appreciated as guests and they have a good knowledge of what to do and see if you have any questions. The grounds are beautiful, and we love the deck, pool and hot tub. I will continue to return over and over again to The Galvestonian, my happy place.

  I recommend the Galvestonian but the toilet didn’t function correctly. Something congenitally wrong with the plumbing in the old building. It smelled bad. I had to throw the paper in the trash and flush four or five times to get the poo to go down. And out of four elevators only one worked and then it broke. So you can imagine.

It was specific to that toilet, which has been taken care of. Please always reach out during your stay to have items like this addressed immediately. We do apologize again for the elevator outage.
