  We come to the island every year for vacation since 1986. We started staying at the Galvestonian 3 years ago and we really do like it. This year we stayed in 303 which is in need of some TLC and repair work.The ceiling in the master bath is badly cracked and fallin down, the exhaust fan only works when it wants to, the door knobs all stick so the doors don't always close properly. The lamp shades are tattered and torn. The closet near the kitchen contained a vacuum that appeared to be broken with a full bag hanging out of it, a broken beach umberella,and baskets of things I didn't want to touch. You have a room for 4 people but not enough seating for 4 to be comfortable. We will come back but not to this condo. We've enjoyed our previous stays in other condos.

  We have stayed in 303 for several years. It seems to deteriorate a little more each year. It needs a good inspection and repair/upgrade. Facets leak around the handles. The kitchen faucet fixture is loose and spins around. Cabinets under the bathroom sinks are delaminating and the door was broken on one ( building maintenance came and looked at it and just removed it as it was beyond repair). The unit smelled very musty when we checked in. Like it had been unoccupied for a long time. That went away after we sprayed air freshener and ran the a/c. We were a disappointed in the condition. Doesn’t seem to be getting any upkeep or upgrades in the last few years. We will be looking for a different unit when we return later this year. The Galvestonian staff are always great. Don’t care for the green arm bands. Disappointing that the washers and dryers are no longer available to the rental guest's, particularly since guests are swimming in the gulf and to wash bathing suits at least. Owners need to add stacked compact washer/dryer combos in the rental units if rental guests can’t use the Galvestionian washers/dryers. We really miss the Galvestionan staff guy that used to put out umbrellas and chairs and rake/clean up the beach area. He always made the Galvestonian beach area so nice for guests. This stay, the beach area was littered with wood, garbage, and sargassum during our stay.

    Hi James. Thank you for your review of your stay. We will reach out to the owner of #303 and address the concerns you listed. We are happy to hear you love the Galvestonian. We have not put out our own umbrellas for 3 years now. The company that provides umbrellas and chairs does a great job and can do it timelier than we can do with in-house staff. We also work with a professional beach cleaner, who cleans our beach once a month all year long, and twice a month during the months of June, July, and August. The seaweed washing up is an annual thing and cannot be removed from the beach, per regulations. Thank you again for your review and we look forward to seeing you again.

  I have stayed at the Galvestonian several times with my family. Unfortunately this stay in Unit 303 left much to be desired. The unit smelled of smoke, had torn pillows and lampshades, and had the bare minimum of accommodations. While I will return to the Galvestonian, I will not be staying again in Unit 303.

  We arrived earl due to a storm coming. The wind was so bad we had we could not use the main doors to enter. They would not let us check in at that time (3:00PM). Left and can back ant was traumatic getting into the building . Unfortunately it stormed the morning we left. Again it is unpleasant checking out. With weather situations there need some flexibility. Never stayed in a beach condo with NO laundry facilities . No where to put wet bathing suits or towels in unit or dry them. No hairdryer!,
  Our unit needed more seating. 4 was max to see TV comfortly.
