  My wife and I have been renting at the Galvestonian with our children and now, grandchildren for over 20 years. We've experienced different management teams, some better than others. The current one is friendly,courteous and professional. We love the pool and convenience of the short walk to the beach.
  Subcontracting the beach chairs and tents was a good move and probably the best improvement was the thick carpet walkway to the beach. Gone are the days I needed assistance to pull a loaded beach cart thru the thick dune sands.
  I have one issue. Two of the last three times we've stayed at the Galvestonian, the hot tub was out of order. It appears that the unit is aged and needs an equipment update for consistent operation. I've noticed that the temperature has been lowered in what I assume is an attempt to keep the unit operating. The hot tub is therapeutic for my wife and I so it is disappointing when it's out of order.
  I can't give you a 5* rating until this problem is addressed.
